I still say FFX is better. The only thing dragging VIII down was the magic for items/junction system...I missed using Ultima as something useful...instead, it helped out my STR junction. It just took a little away from the fantasy of the game. That's my only complaint.
The 4 boss stage finale of FFVIII was superb. Plenty of Lionhearting, Zell limit breaking, Auras, Heros, Holy Wars, Megaelixers (thank God for Bahamut card). Just an amazing game.
But the magic as items approach ruined some of the fantasy element of the game. Basically, aside from Aura and Meltdown, Magics were good for nothing but junction come Disc 3.
Just as it's fun to insult PS3 for no real reason in terms of proof or necessity.
Funny, I'd rather have the 20 decent-great games PSP releases every year than the multitudes of Nintendogs and Pokemon.
I like Tri-Ace, but they have limited character design ability. Can't wait for this game!

Abandon PS3 for 360 console focused development (forget handhelds for a sec people), force your fanbase to a console they DON'T want (360 for japanese/FF fans), license an underperforming, overrated engine you have no idea what the **** you're doing with it and then develop a "cornerstone" global RPG with it! And when it turns out like horse-crap (not too mention fails to make it to the PS3...again) do everything you can to defend it while it sells like a furcoat at a PETA convensio...

I see I'm getting plenty of disagrees. What I'm really trying to do there is just try and reason where the countless number of media sources insulting the PS3's library are coming from.
Yes, there are PS3 games to be had. PLENTY. And there are some AAA exclusives. In fact, the Metacritic overall for PS3 has been better than 360 for exclusives this year...but what the media sees is quantity over quality. Granted, 360 had little in the way of first party exclusives, but they did...
BUT, while I also agree that the small game library arguement should be dead, the COMPARISON to 360 and Wii should not be and we should consider that comparison to negatively affect PS3 in general.
360/multi-console owners also seem against square on this site thanks in large part to the uber-crap that Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscovery turned out being. I beat IU (didn't enjoy it too much) and I have nothing nice to say for the 13 hours of Last Remnant I played. Even installed, God-awful.
I'm looking forward to SO4...but I am concerned it's going to be received poorly sales wise overseas. We'll see, I'm hoping for the best. I love the franchise.

How old is this? Sony CONFIRMED 17 million + not too long ago. Data shows PS3 around 18-19 million now...geez...get with the times.
